Football: Germantown Academy Turns Things Around Following Road Loss

FORT WASHINGTON – There’s no place like home for Germantown Academy, which bounced back from a last-second road loss to Pennington School last Friday with a 19–14 win over the Peddie Falcons on Saturday. The victory marked GA’s fourth straight against the New Jersey program and pushed the Patriots above .500 at 3–2.

After having two touchdowns called back due to penalties in the first half, the Patriots led 7–0 going into the break. Both teams added a score in the third quarter, making it 13–6 entering the final frame. Peddie briefly went ahead, 14–13, but Xavier Stearn ’26 found Mick McKee in the back of the end zone for the go-ahead touchdown.

The Falcons drove into GA territory on the ensuing possession but turned the ball over on downs with under a minute to play.

Stearn threw for 120 yards and connected with McKee for two touchdowns, while also adding a score on the ground. McKee contributed on both sides of the ball, intercepting a pass on defense. Nate Rose ’27 totaled 77 yards of offense, while Timmy Ginter ’26 and Dominic DeSimone ’28 anchored the defense with 10 and 9 tackles, respectively.

The Patriots open Inter-Ac League play on Oct. 11, hosting Malvern Prep at noon.
