GEORGETOWN, GUYANA--The U.S. Women's National Indoor Team, which featured Germantown Academy junior Sammy Popper '19, topped Fédération Internationale de Hockey (FIH) Hero World Ranked No. 13 Argentina by a final of 2-1 in the Women's Indoor Pan American Cup (IPAC) championship game on Saturday afternoon. The victory also gives the Indoor U.S. Women's National Team a bid to the FIH Indoor Hockey World Cup this coming February in Berlin, Germany. It is the team's first ever bid to the Indoor World Cup as USA went 7-0 during the six-day event.
Popper was named Junior Player of the tournament. In total, she scored eight goals in seven games, including:
- 2 goals vs Trinidad and Tobago
- 1 goal against Uruguay
- 3 against Barbados
- 1 against Guyana
