Field Hockey: Patriots Crush Charter

By Joe Cicchino

FORT WASHINGTON--The Patriots defeated visiting William Penn Charter School, 6-0, in conference play on Tuesday at Oberkircher Field in Sisters’ Woods.

Germantown Academy scored four goals in the first half, with three scores coming from junior Sammy Popper '19 and one from junior Madison O’Hara ’19.

“I thought that we did pretty well,” O’Hara said. “It was kind of an easier game for us, but I think we did a good job of playing to our level and not playing down and losing energy.”

Popper would bury her fourth score of the game in the second half, while sophomore Catherine McFadden ’20 registered the final tally with three minutes left in the game.

The win moves GA to 8-3 overall (3-2 in Inter-Ac League).
