BRYN ATHYN -- It has been a long month for the Germantown Academy field hockey team. The Patriots have been idle after dropping their first contest of the season on Aug. 31 due to back-to-back postponed games, and went into the second week of September with only one game under their belts. However, that time off did not show up in GA's latest contest, a non-league bout with Academy of the New Church on the road.
After multiple weeks off, the Patriots opened the flood gates on the Lions, tallying five goals while allowing just one to earn the first result of the season.
Hadley Harbert '24 led the attack with two goals, while Lucy McFadden '24, Olivia Krey '24, and Genevieve Gajan '27 each had one. Krey led the team with two assists, while McFadden and Anita Sinker '25 tallied one.
The Patriots return to action on Sept. 19 when they open Inter-Ac League play with Academy of Notre Dame at home. That showdown is slated to begin at 3:30pm on Oberkircher Field.
