Cross Country: Germantown Academy Teams Compete at Pennsylvania Independent Schools Athletic Association Championships

PHILADELPHIA -- Germantown Academy's cross country teams were in action on Saturday at Belmont Plateau for the Pennsylvania Independent Schools Athletic Association Championships.

Boys Varsity

The boys finished ninth out of 16 teams at the meet,

Walter Mulroy '26 finished first for the Patriots and took 32nd overall with a time of 19:00.70. Ethan Na '26, (19:38.20) and Andrei Vava '24 (19:41.20) both improved upon their times at Inter-Ac League Championships, and took 44th and 45th, respectively. Evan Badami '26 finished the race in 20:12.90 to take 59th. Chaz Murgia '23 (21:32.80) rounded out the scoring five for GA. Oliver Pepper '26 also ran the race, finishing in 21:54.50.

The team will now prepare for GA-PC Day, which take place at Germantown Academy on Nov. 12 at 9:30am. 

Girls Varsity

The Patriots had a strong showing, finishing with 155 points and a taking fifth in the team standings. 

Lana Karpf '23 took 15th overall in a time of 21:47.00, crossing first for the Patriots. Kayla D'Eletto '23 (23:06.00) and Carolyn Connolly '23 (23:42.90) took 24th and 34th, respectively. Sanya Bandekar '25 and Allison Eichsteadt '25 rounded out the GA scorers with times of 24:27.00 and 24:44.10, respectively. Maggie Morrissey '24 also ran, finishing with a time of 26:56.60.

The team will now prepare for GA-PC Day, which take place at Germantown Academy on Nov. 12 at 9:30am. 

Boys JV 

 

The Patriots had four runners finish the JV Boys race. Arjun Sood '25 led the group from GA with a time of 22:54.83. Jake Spain '23 (23:28.68), Jack Breme '26 (23:56.50), and Richard Liao '24 (27:41.83) rounded out the GA runners. 

Girls JV

The Patriots had three runners compete in the JV Girls race. Lauren Truong '26 was the top finisher for GA, taking seventh overall in 25:25.70. Taryn DiFranco '24 (27.55.20) and Hannah Manusov '23 (28:08.10) finished 19th and 21st, respectively. germ
