PHILADELPHIA -- Germantown Academy finished in fifth place  with 74 points in the 2023 Inter-Ac League Track & Field Championships, which were held at Germantown Academy and William Penn Charter on May 12 and 13. 

The throwers started the meet at GA on Friday and responded with top marks. Jet Dickerson '26 took first place in the Javelin, setting a new Inter-Ac record of 132-05.00. In the Shot Put, Gavin Fountain '24 took third with a 50-00 throw and CJ Mersky '24 took sixth tossing a PR of 46-10. In the Discus Throw, Mario Toscano '24 scored at fifth place by throwing 145-07.00 and Fountain placed sixth with a toss of 140-04.00. 

On Saturday when the meet moved to Penn Charter, GA continued to record stellar marks. Adrian Diem '25 won the Pole Vault by clearing 13 feet, while Robby Bright '25 took second, also clearing 13 feet, but with one more attempt. Alex Brereton '24 cleared a new PR of 10 feet to take seventh. In total, the vaulters accumulated 18 points for the boys team.

Blake Brown '24 placed second in the Long Jump and Triple Jump, with leaps of 21-03.75 and 41-02.75, respectively. Dickerson also competed in the Long Jump, placing fourth with a PR of 21-01.50.

The Patriots also found success on the track, taking second in the Boys 4x100 in a time of 45.15. The group consisted of Landan DeHaven '24, J-Jay Ordillas '23, Brown, and Dickerson. 

Evan Badami '26 took 3rd in the 400m with a time of 50.02 setting a new school record. He also placed 6th in the 200m in 23.46. Ellis Johnson placed fifth in the 110m Hurdles and 6th in the 300m Hurdles with times of 16.99 and 44.82, respectively, while Ordillas finished fifth in the 100m in 11.47.

Ethan Na '26 PR'd in the 1600, recording a 4:56. Walter Mulroy '26 PR'd in the 3200 with a time of 10:44.87.
