Boys Track & Field: GA Wraps Up Competition at PAISAA Championships

MALVERN -- Germantown Academy's boys track and field team traveled to Malvern Prep on May 21 to compete in the Pennsylvania Independent Schools Athletic Association Track & Field Championships. The sun and humidity was not the only thing burning up the track, as the Patriots were able to put up some top times and marks during the competition. As a team, GA finished eighth with 39.5 points.

Vance Thorpe '23 ran the Boys 100 in 10.74, edging out the third-place runner by .01 secondS and missing out on first by .14. Thorpe also competed in the Boys 200 Dash, taking third with a time of 23.17. However, he was not done there as the junior also placed 12th in the Boys Long Jump with a mark of 20-02.00. Blake Brown '24 finished the Boys Long Jump in sixth place leaping 22-01.00, and also took 12th in the High Jump, clearing 5-06.00. Aaron Parks '24 hit the same mark, finishing ninth. 

Gavin Fountain '24 also recorded a second-place finish, throwing 140-06 in the Boys Discus. Mario Toscano '24 was close behind with a 130-5 throw to take fourth, while David Mendte '25 finished seventh with a 115-06 throw. CJ Mersky '24 took fourth in the Boys Shot Put with a 46-5.50 throw, while Fountain took fifth with a mark of 46-01.00. Robert Bright '25 finished fourth in the Boys Pole Vault by clearing 90-6.00. 

J-Jay Ordillas '23 took eighth in the Boys 300 Hurdles in a time of 44.35. The Boys 4x800 relay finished seventh with a time of 9:54.70. Lucas Philip '24 finished the Boys 800 in 2:06.59, taking 10th.
