Boys Swimming & Diving: Germantown Academy Opens Season with Victory over Haverford School

FORT WASHINGTON -- It took all twelve events to decide a winner when Germantown Academy's boys swimming and diving team welcomed Inter-Ac League rival Haverford School to Lavino Pool on Dec. 10. With the Patriots leading the Fords by four points ahead of the final race of the evening, the team knew they needed to either place first or touch second and third to seal a victory. The 400 Freestyle Relay team of Dylan Shapiro '25, Heston Steckel '26, Andrew Thompson '25, and Oliver Ritchey '27 finished in 3:18.66, almost four seconds faster than Haverford's second-place team, to clinch a 96.5-90.5 win.
