By: Joe Cicchino - Sports Information Assistant

LANCASTER -- The Patriots are spending the weekend at Franklin & Marshall College competing in the Eastern Interscholastic Swimming Championship. While Germantown Academy's boys swimming team did not pile up first place finishes, they put together consistent performances and ended the day in 11th place out of 26 teams. (PHOTOS)

Zachary Kohm '21 was the lone swimmer to place in the top eight of the 200 freestyle in the A Final. The freshman took second with a time of 1:40.05. Kohm improved upon his preliminary time of 1:41.71.

"We've been waiting for that swim for about six or seven months," Head Coach Jeff Thompson said. "We knew he was ready to pop that one. That was fun. That was an outstanding swim for him."

The 200 medley relay team of Sean Keenan '19, Jack Lafond '19, Walker Butler '20 and Kohm finished ninth overall, but claimed the best time in the B Finals. The group swam 1:36.77 in the event. Keenan also took sixth in the 200 yard freestyle B Final.

Marc Arsever '20, Jack Forde '19, Kevin Hou '19 and Gavin Loughlin '20 made up the 200 yard freestyle relay. That group swam a time of 1:32.86 and took sixth in the B Finals. For diving, Nolan O'Kelly '21 finished 23rd with a score of 216.45.

"Our boys medley relay, it was fun watching them win the B Final," Thompson said. "It was a great day for the boys."

Thompson continued to say that although he thought the boys had a good day today, he thinks that they will be better suited for tomorrow's events. The Patriots will be back in the pool for tomorrow's prelims at 8:30 a.m.
