Boys Soccer: Patriots Take Storm-Shortened Match Against SALA

FORT WASHINGTON -- Led by two first half goals from Adrian Diem '25 and Ben Creighton '26, Germantown Academy's boys soccer team pulled out a result against Scholar Athlete Leadership Academy in a shortened outing. Due to storms in the area, the game was called off with just under 30 minutes remaining in the second half, however the results are official.

The Patriots took a 1-0 lead midway through the first half when Diem followed a shot by Jordan Lee '24 and buried the rebound in the bottom corner. SALA answered with 15 minutes to go before the break.

Creighton subbed into the game with under five minutes to go before halftime, but wasted little time before making an impact. The sophomore crashed into the box on a GA corner, rose above the crowd, and headed the ball down and into the goal to give the Patriots a lead with 1:03 remaining in the first.

Each team had opportunities in the second frame, but were unable to break through before the weather turned.

The Patriots return to action on Sept. 12 when they host Westtown School at 4pm.
