Boys Basketball: Patriots Fall to Penn Charter

FORT WASHINGTON -- Germantown Academy's boys basketball team closed out its regular season on Feb. 10 when it hosted Inter-Ac League foe William Penn Charter. Seven different players managed to score for the Patriots, but they were unable to knock off the Quakers, who took the game 63-49.

GA trailed 5-0 before Tyler Nolan '25 and Ellis Johnson '25 scored back-to-back buckets. Luke Topley '22, one of four seniors honored prior to the game, tied the contest with a three pointer at the 4:17 mark, but the Quakers answered with a 7-2 run to close out the quarter. Bryce Rollerson '25 got going and tied the contest again at the 4:46 mark of the second quarter, but just briefly as Penn Charter answered with a score of their own. PC lead GA at the half, 32-23.

The Quakers extended their lead in the second half, outscoring GA 31-26. Rollerson and Nolan ended the game with a team-high 11 points, while Johnson finished with 10 points. Flinn Brooks '25 added six points on two three-pointers, and Bryce Presly '26 had five. Braheen Mitchell '22 and Topley each had three points. 

The Patriots end the regular season with a 10-15 overall record and a 3-7 mark in the Inter-Ac. They return to action on Feb. 17 for the Pennsylvania Independent Schools Athletic Association Tournament.
