FORT WASHINGTON -- In a season where close finishes were plentiful, Germantown Academy's boys basketball ending the season in runaway fashion. Just three days after defeating Germantown Friends School in the Commonwealth Cup Semifinal, 89-37, the Patriots bested Solebury School in the championship game, 92-62.
"We came out knowing today was about us and just looking to have fun," Tyler Nolan '25 said. "We knew it was our last game of the season, so we were looking to end the year on a good note and play hard."
After leading by just four after the first quarter, the Patriots opened things up in the second. Flinn Brooks '25 made four shots from behind the arc in the frame as GA outscored Solebury 25-11 in the quarter and held a 45-25 advantage at the break. Nolan took over after the half, recording 19 of his 26 points, including four made threes, in the third quarter.
"Anytime you make 12 three's, good things are likely coming," Head Coach Matt Dolan said. "It's great to finish strong in these last two games to give us some momentum heading into the offseason."
The Patriots tallied 17 points in the final frame between Bryce Rollerson '25, Mick McKee '26, Tommy Rush '26, Brooks, AJ Towsen '25, Timmy Ginter '26, and Finn Reckner '27.
Germantown Academy finishes the 2023-24 season with a 12-14 overall mark, and a 2-7 record in Inter-Ac League play.
