Baseball: Germantown Academy Claims Victory Over Germantown Friends School in PAISAA Contest

FORT WASHINGTON -- Germantown Academy defeated Germantown Friends School 6-2 on Saturday in the first round of the Pennsylvania Independent Schools Athletic Association tournament.

Germantown Friends School opened the scoring in the first, but the advantage was short lived as the Patriots captured the lead, 3-1, in the bottom of the first when an error scored two runs, and Nate Knapp '28 drew a walk, scoring one run.

Holt Record '27 earned the win for Germantown Academy. The reliever gave up three hits and one run over three innings, striking out three and walking none. Sean McGettigan '26 started on the mound for the Patriots. The pitcher surrendered zero hits and one unearned run over two innings, striking out one and walking none. Charlie Morris '25 pitched two innings of no-run ball in relief. The hurler surrendered one hit, striking out four and walking none.

Lucas Albert '26 drove the middle of the lineup, leading GA with two runs batted in. The shortstop went 1-for-4 on the day. Tyler Nolan '25 led Germantown Academy Varsity Patriots with three hits in four at bats. Jake Bulicki '26 stole two bases. GA collected six stolen bases for the game.

The win sets the Patriots up with a PAISAA quarterfinal contest on the road against Shipley on May 20.
