Alumni Update: Megan McCloskey '14 Makes All-American

By: Joe Cicchino - Sports Information Assistant

FORT WASHINGTON -- Germantown Academy graduate Megan McCloskey '14 wrapped up her track and field career at Penn State in fabulous fashion, finishing in a tie for fourth-place in the women’s high jump at the 2018 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. In the process, McCloskey netted her first First Team All-America honor.

McCloskey got to the championships by clearing a season-best height of 5' 10.75" in the preliminary round. Even though that height qualified her for the finals, it was not her best jump of the season. Earlier in the year, McCloskey cleared 5' 11.25" -- giving her the second highest mark in Penn State history.

Success like that is nothing new to McCloskey, whose high schools career included two Pennsylvania Track & Field Coaches Association high jump state championships, four Pennsylvania Independent Schools Athletic Association championships, two medals at Penn Relays and a win at the 2012 USATF Junior Olympic National Championships.
