By: Joe Cicchino - Sports Information Assistant

FORT WASHINGTON -- If members of the Germantown Academy community were looking for a team to root for in the 2019 DIII Men's Lacrosse Championship, then they are in luck. When Amherst College takes on Cabrini University at Lincoln Financial Field for the national title on May 26, GA alum Jimmy McAfee '16 will be in the middle of it all.

McAfee -- a junior midfielder for the 18-3 Mammoths -- along with the rest of his teammates will be looking to upend the 21-2 Cabrini Cavaliers. Amherst got to this point by defeating Elizabethtown in the second round of the tournament, 21-9. They then edged out Wesleyan (Conn.), 16-13, before besting Tufts, 13-11.

This season, McAfee has started 20 games for Amherst, tallying 10 goals and seven assists. He also has 62 ground balls and 12 caused turnovers.
