Alumni Update: James McGettigan '18, Olivia McMichael '20 Earn All-America Honors

FORT WASHINGTON -- Although the calendar reads "December," winter has not yet started. That being the case, fall student-athletes are still receiving their accolades for the seasons in which they put together. While numerous former Patriots were recognized during the post-season, these two recently earned All-America honors.

James McGettigan '18 was named to the American Football Coaches Association All-America first team. The All-America nod was the second for McGettigan, who made the D3football.com All-American third team last year.

McGettigan was recognized for his speed, accuracy and consistency on snaps. The snapper for punts and placement kicks in all 11 games this past year, McGettigan did not have a bad snap in four seasons in the role. He also was quick down the field in punt coverage after snapping and helped the Mules rank 19th in Division III in net punting. He was also named to the D3football.com All-Region 2 Team.

Olivia McMichael '20 was named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III All-American First Team. McMichael started every game this fall as the Trinity goalkeeper, totaling 99 saves for a conference-low 0.84 save percentage and allowing just 19 goals for a 0.95 with six shutouts in 1,186 minutes in the cage.

McMichael was also a Synapse Sports All-American Second Team, NFHCA Division III All-Region First Team, and All-NESCAC First Team selection.
