Strength and Conditioning

Our mission is to provide student-athletes and faculty in the GA community the best possible quality of care. Through a combined effort of our athletic training and strength and conditioning staff, we focus on utilizing cutting edge evidence-based treatment and rehabilitation techniques to enhance healing and performance. We strive to return injured student-athletes to sports participation in an optimal timeframe, placing their overall health and safety above all else. Our team cultivates an environment where we educate GA student-athletes to sustain quality health while pursuing physical growth.

 

Joe Migliarese
HEAD STRENGTH & CONDITIONING COACH

Joe Migliarese joined Germantown Academy in September 2018 as part of GA's partnership with NovaCare Rehabilitation. Migliarese is currently the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach where he supports GA student-athletes every day in their journey to reaching their full potential.

Prior to joining GA, "Coach Migs" coached at Appalachian State University and Penn State University where he helped guide hundreds of student-athletes, both mentally and physically, to better prepare for games and life after sports. A local product of La Salle College High School, Migliarese went on to play Division I football the University of Rhode Island where he earned a degree in Kinesiology. He also has a Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association certificate and Reflexive Performance Reset certificate. Migliarese also spent time in the NFL.

Both Migliarese's knowledge and background has led him to a deep and unmatched understand of athletic preparation. He is very focused on all aspects of athletic development: performance, recovery, mindset, and nutrition.

Program Highlights

  • Every student-athlete has access to all of their workouts and can track their progress through the program's TeamBuildR application.

  • We approach recovery (sleep, mobility, foam roll, rest, and nutrition) as part of our daily strength and conditioning routine to allow for optimal performance.

  • Holistic approach to nutrition.

Weight Room Hours

Monday - Friday, 10am - 6pm

Our healthcare professionals are employees of NovaCare Rehabilitation Services and are contracted by GA to provide daily service to the community.
