William Buehler '44
- A "lifer" at Germantown Academy, Bill was a four sport athlete: Football (1942, 1943), Baseball (1941, 1942, 1943, 1944), Basketball (1942), and Swimming (1942, 1943, 1944).
- The Football Team was undefeated in 1942 and 1943. In 1944, the GA Baseball team won the Inter-Ac championship.
- Upon graduation from GA, Bill entered the Navy and served on the U.S.S. New York. After his duty at sea, Bill played baseball in the 14th Naval District at Pearl Harbor. He played with many major league players who were also in the service.
- After World War II, Bill attended Gettysburg College. He pitched for 4 years and never lost a game.
- After graduation from Gettysburg, Bill coached Little League baseball and girls softball. One of his Little League teams had a 20-0 record and the girls softball team had an 18-0 record.
