Germantown Academy graduate Steven Holmes '01 was inducted into the GA Athletic Hall of Fame on November 8, 2018.

  • Earned All-America honors as a senior
  • First-team All-State as a junior and senior
  • Three-time All-Inter-Ac League for defense
  • Scored 12 goals as a senior defender
  • Led GA to the state championship game in 2001
  • Four-year letterwinner in football
  • First-team All-Inter-Ac League three times
  • Two-time First-Team All-City selection
  • Two-year football captain
  • Holds school records for career and single-season receiving
  • Helped the Patriots to the 1999 Inter-Ac League championship
  • Four-year varsity letterwinner in lacrosse at the University of Virginia
  • Started every game of his college career
  • Led the Cavaliers to two NCAA Division I Lacrosse Final Fours
  • Captain of the 2005 lacrosse team
  • Won the team’s defensive MVP award in 2005

  • Since 2006, was a career starting defenseman, logging over 140 career starts16 goals and 400 loose balls in both professional lacrosse leagues

  • In last professional season in 2015, led the New York Lizards to the Major League Lacrosse Championship

  • His defensive coaching prowess helped Malvern Prep go 24-0 in 2014 en route to a third place national ranking
  • Serves as a guest coach and lecturer as an ambassador for USBOXLA
  • Founded his own lacrosse training and events company, Fusion, in 2013, which currently hosts seven tournaments and trains more than 400 individuals in Philadelphia and Richmond
  • Most recently, serves as a head coach of the Unionville High School lacrosse team where he led them to their first home playoff appearance since 2007
