· Was a three sport athlete at Germantown Academy playing Varsity Football, Baseball and Basketball for three years each.

· Co-Captain of the 1952 Varsity Football team and Co-Captain of the 1953 Varsity Baseball team.

· Received the Robert W. Maxwell Memorial Football Club Award in October of 1952.

· Awarded the 1953 Robert A. Hoover Memorial Trophy for Baseball.

· Received the Union League Boys Award in 1950.

· Awarded the 1952 Achievement Award from the Kiwanis Club of Germantown as Co-Captain of the Inter-Ac League Championship Germantown Academy Football team.

· Received the 1953 Achievement Award from the Kiwanis Club of Germantown as Co-Captain of the Inter-Ac Championship Germantown Academy Baseball team.

· Awarded the Academy Club Award for Baseball in 1951 and 1952.

· Received the 1952 Academy Club Award for Football.

· Attended Temple University and played Varsity Football in his freshman year.

· Played Football and Baseball for the U.S. Army in 1956.
