- While at Germantown Academy, Larry was a four sport athlete playing Varsity Football for four years, Varsity Basketball for four years, running Varsity Track for three years and playing Baseball.
- Larry was Captain of the Basketball and Track Teams for two years.
- Larry was on the All Inter-Ac League Team for three years for Football and Basketball.
- Larry received the Maxwell Club Award for football.
- For Football, Larry was named to the First Team All-City by the Daily News and Philadelphia Inquirer, the Daily News All-Decade Team and the First Team All Area for 5,000 all-purpose yards (2,128 rushing, 1118 receiving, 1945 kick and punt returns and 29 touchdowns).
- While playing Basketball Larry has 1,153 career points and 128 career three point baskets.
- During Larry’s basketball career he received the Markward Club Award.
- Larry attended Fordham University and played Varsity Football for four years.
- Larry was a four year letter winner and a four year starter.
- He holds the Fordham University record for career kick return yards, fourth all-time record for receptions, third all-time record for receiving yards, fourth all-time for touchdown receptions and a second all-time for punt return yards.
- Larry received the 1996 Bob Macken Award for Outstanding Player.
