David Lawson '70
  • David was a three sport athlete at Germantown Academy, playing Varsity Soccer for four years, Varsity Baseball for four years, and Varsity Basketball for three years.
  • In 1970, David was a Co-Captain of the Soccer Team. The Soccer Team won three consecutive Inter-Ac titles      for the years 1968, 1969, and 1970.
  • David was on the Inter-Ac All Star Team for soccer in 1968, 1969 and 1970 David was on the Inter-Ac All Star Team for baseball for the years 1967, 1968, 1969 and 1970. He was also named to the Inter-Ac All Star Team for basketball in 1970.
  • The 1967-1968 basketball team had only one loss for the season to the Penn Freshman Team at the Palestra.
  • David was awarded The Bernard Dallas Trophy for outstanding scholar athlete 1969.
  • After graduation, David went on to Washington & Lee University where he continued playing baseball.
  • In 1970, David was a Fourth Round Draft Choice by the New York Yankees. David played five years in the New York Yankee farm system.
  • After leaving the Yankees organization, David played in the Dominican Republic League. His team won the Dominican Championship in 1976.
