Performing Arts

It started out with wondering where the snowflakes in the Lower School winter program were coming from. It then continued to dropping these magical snowflakes for the kids as a senior. Technical Theatre has introduced me to my passion along with my mentor, teacher, and friend: Paul Moffitt. I find great pleasure and satisfaction in bringing fantasy to reality through the work I do behind the scenes. I get to bring actors' dreams to life. This allows them to fully immerse themselves in a world where they can express themselves. I love being able to bring these dreams to life just as I like creating the magic of winter to the Lower School kids."

Germantown Academy's performing arts department provides a foundation in music, drama, theatrical design, and public speaking to all students in PreKindergarten through 12th grade. We provide a curriculum that promotes imagination, an understanding of oneself and others, and clear communication. Our faculty models high standards of performance along with a spirit of kindness and cooperation. MIDDLE SCHOOL PERFORMING ARTS

Middle School Drama creates a place where students find their inner theatrical artist. With its own theatre, drama class, and performances, Middle Schoolers can truly be themselves.

The Drama Club in Middle School gets to perform a musical and non-musical play every year. Besides performing such classics like Willy Wonka, Bye Bye Birdie, The Music Man and Annie, students learn about production, sound, and even costuming. They get to work closely with Upper School students and Technical Theatre Director.
