MUSIC
We believe music is a language: written and heard, spoken and felt, appreciated and performed. Students in all divisions develop individual skills, understanding, and confidence through working in a collaborative, compassionate atmosphere.
Regular performances throughout the year are celebrations of student and ensemble achievement.

Lower School
In the Lower School Performing Arts department, we believe music is a language: written and heard, spoken and felt, appreciated and performed. We believe in play-based learning, and the connection between getting physical with music and a child's confidence. As positive stewards, we meet children where they are and guide them on their musical journeys. Music makes the world a better place, and at GA the Lower School is where it starts.

Middle School
GA students have rich musical experiences during their Middle School years. They develop individual skills, understanding, and confidence through working in a collaborative, compassionate atmosphere. Regular performances throughout the year are celebrations of student and ensemble achievement. The curricular music program is augmented by an outstanding staff of individual instrumental and voice instructors, and extracurricular programs like Jazz Band provide opportunities to practice a variety of musical styles.

Upper School
GA’s Upper School music program fosters self-expression, creativity, and artistic excellence in a collaborative setting. Students range from seasoned musicians to beginners picking up an instrument for the first time. The Honors program offers motivated students opportunities such as PMEA and ACDA auditions, adjudications, and community performances. In addition to orchestra, band, and chorus, students can explore songwriting and digital music production. Private lessons with professional musicians are also available on campus.
Hearing from a parent that their child is excitedly practicing their instrument at 6:30am or getting a note from a graduate expressing how much their musical experience meant to them, it makes everything we do at GA all the more meaningful!"
