Please join us on SATURDAY, APRIL 11 for the annual McVeigh Day of Service to honor the legacy of longtime faculty member and CSO founder,
Peter C. McVeigh 1760.

GERMANTOWN ACADEMY CAMPUS & PHILADELPHIA
We look forward to preparing packages for the following organizations
on Saturday, April 11 at 10:30am in the GA Dining Room.
All GA Alumni and community members are invited to participate! No need to RSVP.
Caring for Friends – Delivers meals and friendship to homebound seniors, people with disabilities, and families in need. Many volunteers are needed to assemble breakfast bags for the Caring for Friends community. Our goal is assemble 1,000 bags again this year. This opportunity is great for all ages!
Corporal Michael J. Crescenz VA Medical Center – Provides comprehensive healthcare and supportive services to improve the health of U.S. veterans. We will assemble personal care bags.
Mt. Airy Community Fridge & Pantry – Reduces food insecurity by sharing free groceries through a community fridge and pantry. We will be filling two fridges with peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.
Family Promise – Helps families experiencing homelessness achieve stability through shelter, housing support, and community partnerships. We will be making household kits, snack bags, and activity bags for children.
GA is partnering once again with Face to Face, an organization that provides fresh hot meals, along with legal, health and social services to those in need, and one that this event's namesake, the late Peter McVeigh 1760, was extremely fond of. There are two ways to volunteer with Face to Face - by helping meal prep at their facility in Philadelphia (must be 13+) and by helping setup and/or work their annual spring celebration at Chestnut Hill College.

REGIONAL OPPORTUNITIES

CHICAGO - Cradles to Crayons
Time: 1:30pm-3pm
Location: The Giving Factory, 2500 W. Bradley Place; Chicago, IL
Led by Courtney Baron '01, Chicago volunteers will help Cradles to Crayons process donations of clothing and other necessities for disadvantaged children in the community.
WASHINGTON, D.C. - D.C. Central Kitchen
Time: 9am-12pm
Location: D.C. Central Kitchen, 2121 First St. SW, Washington, DC 20024
Led by Erika Bunton Mendez '93, five volunteers will be a part of the Food Prep Shift to prepare for the lunch service. Volunteer age requirement is 12 years old.

Are you unable to attend one of the scheduled events, but still want to participate in McVeigh Day of Service? Create your own Day of Service! Give back to your local community and share with us by tagging #mcveighdayofservice, #yourfriendmcveigh and #howdidyoumcveightoday
Here are some ideas:
- Help at a local soup kitchen or shelter
- Pick up litter at a nearby park
- Donate to an organization you care about
- Make food/sandwiches for a local pantry or community fridge
