Germantown Academy is an independent, coeducational, college preparatory day school located on a beautiful 126-acre campus in the Fort Washington suburbs near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. We are seeking a full-time, experienced, dynamic Varsity Wrestling Head Coach to start in July 2026. 

Responsibilities:

  • Direct the instruction in the sport of Wrestling for all of the Upper and Middle School teams.
  • Organize and run all Varsity Wrestling team practices.
  • Event management for all Upper School Varsity Wrestling matches and tournaments.
  • Assist in attracting quality student-athletes to Germantown Academy.
  • Assist in attracting and supervising quality coaches for the Wrestling program.
  • Serve as a resource for the college selection process for all Upper School Wrestlers and their families.
  • Serve as primary instructor for external wrestling club and work with club leadership on recruitment and promotion.
  • Conduct instructional clinics and summer camps for the younger players at GA and in the surrounding geographic areas.
  • Attend all league meetings of the Wrestling coaches.
  • Serve as a conduit of information regarding the Wrestling program for all appropriate media sites, including working with the sports information assistant to report game results and promote the team.
  • Meet with the Director of Athletics on a frequent basis to review the status of the program.
  • Communicate with the Associate Director of Athletics regarding scheduling and equipment needs.
  • Comply with all of the professional guidelines as listed in the GA Coaches Handbook.
  • Attend professional development opportunities in the sport of wrestling and coaching.

Qualifications:

  • Previous participation in the sport at the high school or collegiate level
  • Minimum of one year coaching experience
  • Availability for practices or games, Monday through Friday, 3pm-7pm
  • Associate degree; bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Valid Driver’s License
