Adventure Course

The Adventure Course opened in the spring of 2016 as an expansion of ropes elements already in place throughout the woods adjacent to the Wissahickon Creek. A High Ropes Course designed and installed by The Adventure Network incorporated the existing Zip Line into an exhilarating challenge-by-choice course with nine new elements rising 50 feet up in the trees, testing participants’ balance, coordination, and problem-solving skills. The course concludes with a thrilling 100-foot ride across the creek.

The key piece of technology for the Adventure Course is the Saferoller® Belay. The Swiss-designed continuous belay system features a trolley that safeguards guests throughout the course, never unhooking from start to finish.

Another feature of the Adventure Course is the Giant Swing, which is a pulley-based system that swings guests in a 60-foot arc out over the creek. The guest tells the pull team how high to take them, then counts down to a self-release.

The Low Ropes Course offers its own set of challenges, with a cargo net climb and triangle balance wire. Try to make it through all three legs without touching the ground!
