Planned Giving

Structured gifts, built in consultation with the donor’s professional advisors, intended to benefit Germantown Academy and to optimize the donor’s financial, tax, and/or estate plans fall into a very diverse and exciting philanthropic category called Planned Giving.

Many creative and advantageous plans exist that provide maximum benefits for both the donor and Germantown Academy.  Some planned gifts, such as Charitable Gift Annuities and Charitable Trusts involve life income arrangements which can be advantageous to the donor in many ways.  Others, such as gifts of Appreciated Securities, Retirement Plans, Real Estate and Personal Property, simply transfer to Germantown Academy as the designated beneficiary.  Perhaps the most common form of planned giving is the Bequest of assets through a will.

The Germantown Academy Office of Institutional Advancement would be pleased to, on a confidential basis, facilitate various planned gift examples, initial financial calculations and estimated projections.
