Wet Meadows are areas of native plantings featuring trees, grasses and flowering plants that tolerate and thrive in moist or wet environments. These areas are important for stormwater management, natural habitat, providing biodiversity, as well as many other recreational and educational opportunities.  Wet meadows provide opportunities to study the wonders of nature by allowing the students to immerse themselves into natural processes and systems with outdoor classroom experiences, hands on learning and experiments designed to stimulate the curious mind about the world.  

Creation of Biodiversity and Habitat

Meadows offer a condition of forest and grassland edge favored by many different kinds of wildlife. Site amenities such as trails, bridges, boardwalks, and bird blinds provide ways to view this interesting and even rare life in it’s natural habitat. This unique synthesis of wetland, meadow and woodland typographies, with easy access for people to enjoy, provides for a much more diverse and interesting, and therefore valuable ecosystem, that is rapidly disappearing from most areas. Due to the many different facets and the shear density of life these areas can accommodate, wet meadows are often considered the most feasible natural ecologies.
