Nine GA Students Named National Merit Commended Students

Germantown Academy Head of Upper School Chris Nelson announced that nine members of the Class of 2018 were named Commended Students in the 2018 National Merit Scholarship Program. The nine GA National Merit Commended Students are Anna Hennessy '18, Caroline Kessell '18, David Li '18, Andrew Luo '18, Nicole Marion '18, Vincent Paik '18, Hannah Santos '18, Rachael Villari '18, and Isaac Wilkins.

"We're incredibly proud of our National Merit Commended Students," said Mr. Nelson. "Clearly, their commitment to academic excellence and sustained effort is reflected in this honor."

About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Although they will not continue in the 2018 competition for National Merit Scholarship Awards, these Commended Students placed among the top five percent of more than 1.6 million students who entered the 2018 competition by taking the 2016 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).
