Katie Kramp '18 Named Ambler Rotary Club's Student of the Month

Germantown Academy senior Katie Kramp '18 was recently named the Ambler Rotary Club's Student of the Month for December.

"I have known Kathryn as a student for the past three years," said Upper School Spanish Teacher Yvette Marquez-Pribitkin, who also serves as the advisor for the Upper School Community Service Organization (CSO). "In those years she has not only excelled as a person, but she has shown her ability to lift the performance of others with her helpful nature. She is quiet at first, but very sweet once she gets to talking, and I think kids really take to her approachable disposition. Her grit and hard work has paid off inside and outside of the classroom, and she has became a role model to her peers. She has grown into herself more and has become a leader, especially within CSO. Whenever we find ourselves needing a volunteer for any activity or a last-minute poster drawn, Katie is the first person we ask. Not only is she unhesitant to say yes, but she always completes the task with grace. We are currently doing a candy cane drive for CSO, and Katie happily volunteered her artistic talents to design many of the beautiful slips we've used. All of her talents, however, come across subtly, for she never is one to boast about her skills or like for appraisal for her accomplishments. It is this quality that I believe is most outstanding about this young lady. Moreover, Katie expertly balances her academic load with her interests out of the classroom, which included weekly trips to NYC for acting lessons."

"Katie is a terrific young woman and this award is so incredibly well-deserved for her commitment to serving others, in our GA community as well as beyond," said Head of Upper School Chris Nelson. "We're thrilled to celebrate the honor and to continue to support her in all that she does."

Congratulations, Katie!
