6th Grade Explores the Arts

Posted October 3, 2012

Today at GA, the Class of 2019 split up and half went to Philadelphia and the other half to New York City to take in the art scene. The group that went downtown visited the Philadelphia Museum of Art to study Impressionist art, and from there faculty and students visited the "Magic Garden" of mosaic artist Isaiah Zagar, who will be working at GA with all three divisions to create an indoor mosaic. The other half of the sixth grade traveled to New York City to visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art and to see "Peter and the Starcatcher" on Broadway. Despite a little rain, both groups found the trips informative and entertaining.
