Class of 2016 Making Waves!
Posted September 21, 2012
The Class of 2016, 119 students strong, enjoyed a terrific Freshman Retreat on Thursday, September 20. After a quick Advisory Emmy Prediction Game, the entire 9th grade gathered on the Quad, blindfolded, as they engaged in the ‘animal sound matchmaking’ ice breaker (It’s even stranger than it sounds, but they were good sports).
After each team of animals found all the member of their species (by listening for their oinks, meows and hee-haws), they stood atop the steps of the Administration Building and ‘sang’ the GA alma mater – albeit with animal sounds (oink, oink, oink, oink, oink, oink…) instead of the usual tried and true lyrics. They then hopped on the buses to Great Wolf Lodge and enjoyed several hours of sliding, lazy pools, arcades and low-key bonding fun as they came together as a grade. Here’s to a great year, 2016!
