Congratulations Class of 2012!!!

Smiles were aplenty on Friday in the Quad as members of Germantown Academy’s Class of 2012 officially graduated from GA at the 252nd commencement in the school's illustrious history.
Prior to presentation of diplomas from Head of School Jim Connor 1760 and Board of Trustees President William M. Garbose, students, parents and extended family members heard from student speakers Sam Pottash ’12 and Michael Garbose ’12 as well as faculty speaker Jim Fenerty 1760, Director of Athletics.
Senior Class Form Representatives Natalie Cunningham ’12, Mauri Honickman ’12 and Erik Rogers ’12 presented the class stone and its generous gift.
Rogers and Honickman were also awarded the Nahill Memorial Medal at graduation, which was established in 1964 by the Class of 1960 in memory of their President, George Gregory Nahill, to be awarded to the boy and girl of the Sixth form who, by vote of the class, has done the most to further class unity. Joshua Silverman ’12 and Christina DeRusso ’12 were each presented with the Head of School Prize, which is awarded to the boy and girl of the graduating class who, while at Germantown Academy, has made the best use of their talents.
Also included in the ceremony was the induction of new members to the Class of 1760, which included Rollin D. Wakeman 1760, Fernande K. “Freddie” Davis and Joy E. Holmes.
Following the recessional, members of the Class of 2012 and teachers lined up on the outer edge of the Quad and wished each other well during the traditional handshake line.
