On
Friday, April 30, Germantown Academy welcomed the Class of 1960, GA’s
Bicentennial Class, for a Day on Campus. The day was highlighted by
their induction into GA’s Old Guard, an exclusive club of alumni who
graduated 50+ years ago. More than 40 alumni Old Guard members were in
attendance for this year's reception and celebration of the Class of
1960.
Participants began
their day with a state of the school presented by Head of School Jim
Connor, 1760. They then went "Back to School," literally. Our alumni
joined Upper School students in Juan Leon’s Spanish 2 class, R.J.
McDaniel’s Pre-calculus class and Peter Drewniany’s English Class.
After, the alumni met with current seniors Nat Newhall, Colin Skelly,
Lauren Johnson and Emily Hyman before meeting their second grade pen
pals from the Class of 2020. The members of the Class of ’60 enjoyed
the opportunity to experience a day in the life of GA today!
