Parents of GA Alumni went all "green" on GA's new Green Roof at the 2012 Fall Social on September 14th. The gorgeous evening featured:

• A menu with locally produced wine from Karamoor Farms, catering from Drake's and gluten-free desserts from The Little Bakery
• GA Science teachers, Dr. Sue Johnston, Becky Pizzino and Maura Saurman, with information tables about GA's Green Roof, Bee Hives and Environmental Science curriculum.
• The smooth sounds of GA's faculty Jazz Ensemble
• Vegetarian Cookbook Author and Emmy-award winning cooking show host, Christina Pirello

Germantown Academy is proud to announce the launch of the new GA Parents of Alumni Association.  Under the leadership of Sara Gowing P’07, ’11, and the members of the Parents of Alumni Advisory Council (pictured above), the group has identified their mission and goals, developed a logo, formed internal committees, and hosted their first event.  

The GA PoA Association's Mission is:  To help parents of alumni remain connected to GA, and one another, following the graduation of their children.  Additionally, the group's goals are:

• Present social, educational and cultural events and opportunities for parents of alumni
• Increase awareness of new GA initiatives and programs
• Foster participation in activities presented by the GA Alumni Office/Office of Institutional Advancement and the Parents Committee
• Support college and career networking efforts for alumni
• Encourage continued involvement and support of the academy by other parents of alumni and young alumni in order to maintain the continuum of the GA connection
• Overall, to reinforce the notion of GA as a life-long resource for its alumni and their parents 

All parents of GA alumni are encouraged to share their current email address (send to alumni@germantownacademy.org) in order to assure that they receive the group’s quarterly e-newsletter and event invitations.
