All of the options below support the GA community by generating cash for the Parents’ Committee (about $10,000 total each year) to benefit our children and faculty at no cost to you!! INTERNET SEARCH AND SHOPPING OPTIONS
NEW! Shopga.net (a division of Shop.com)
Parent of Alumni Denise Hermany brings a new shopping option to benefit GA. By always starting your online shopping at www.shopga.net, GA receives a percentage donation where you have access to over 2500 online stores you may already shop at as well as products offered by Market America. In addition you earn 2 - 35% cashback on all of your qualified purchases. It is easy to search for stores and products (over 35 million!) through this gateway and you will also be informed about special deals. Have access to a gift registry, and a variety of other convenient features.

GoodSearch
How many times do you search on the internet in a day? What if every one of those searches resulted in money for GA? You can make that happen easily if you switch to www.goodsearch.com as your search engine. This site is powered by Yahoo, so you have great searching power. The only difference is you select Germantown Academy from the list of organizations you could be searching for. Every time you start a search from www.goodsearch.com with GA listed as the verified charity, a donation will be made to GA. It is only about a penny per search, but if everyone in the community used this search engine, think how much we could generate for GA!
GoodShop
This is an easy one! If you will be shopping online for anything and don’t want to register any personal information, start at GoodShop, www.goodsearch.com/goodshop.aspx. All you do is select Germantown Academy from their list of charities - then off you go to the sites of the hundreds of retailers who will donate a portion of their proceeds to GA simply because you started from the GoodShop site and listed GA as your verified charity. There is no need to sign up anything other than the name of Germantown Academy.
SHOPPING OPTIONS
eScrip(Genuardi’s/Safeway Cards)
If you register your Genuardi's/Safeway card with GA as the beneficiary, all your purchases result in money for GA. In addition, we benefit from special promotions in August and January where purchases made in those periods generate extra funding to GA. Relatives and friends can participate as well. The Safeway family of companies includes grocery chains throughout the country.
If you do not have a Genuardi's/Safeway card yet, you can obtain one at any Customer Service Center in a store. Send your card number (must be the card number, not the phone number associated with the card) and name to Marge Carrigan at marge.carrigan@gmail.com or Cara Jones at carajjones@verizon.net and we will register your card so all your purchases will result in a contribution to GA. We will even renew you every year so you don’t have to do anything except shop!
NEW in 2011! Giant A+ for Schools
Giant Food Stores now offer a program that runs from September to March each year. If you have a Giant card, send your card number and email to Marge Carrigan at marge.carrigan@gmail.com or Chris McDade at boycemcdade@verizon.net and we can register you as a supporter of GA. You may also register yourself at www.giantfoodstores.com\aplus using GA school number 05913. Then shop as usual and watch the bonus points for GA add up each month.
Target
If you have a Target Red Card, Target Visa Card or Target Debit Card (new!), your purchases at Target (and elsewhere for the Visa and Debit Card) will result in a donation to GAwhenyou have your card registered to support GA (School Code15393). Call 1-800-316-6142 or go to www.target.com/tcoe to register your card in the Target Take Charge of Education program.
If you do not have a Target card, sign up for one and register for GA (School Code 15393) at the same time. Note that Target cards allow you tosave 5%on every purchase made at Target with your card. You save and GA gains!
Fred Straub Jewelers
Fred, GA Class of 1974, and his family have a close relationship with GA and are proud to offer a variety of GA logo items such as frames, pins, charms, a neck chain, tie tacks or lapel pins in a variety of metals from sterling to 14K gold for sale. Lands’ End
Every purchase of GA Uniform and GA GEAR items from Lands’ End will result in a donation of up to 3% of the purchase amount to Germantown Academy. Enter the preferred school number (900099763) before completing the order, either by phone or on the web at www.landsend.com/germantownacademy. You can also search for the school online.
Rose Uniforms is Now Flynn & O'Hara!
Rose Uniforms has merged with local uniform company Flynn & O'Hara and will continue providing quality merchandise to the GA community. Every purchase at their store in Spring House or from their web (www.flynnohara.com) results in a donation of 10% of the purchase amount coming back to Germantown Academy. All you need to do is specify you are shopping for the Germantown Academy uniform or GA GEAR items.
Olly Shoes (primarily for Lower School)
Buy your children’s school shoes at Olly Shoe Stores and Germantown Academy will receive 10% of the total net sales. Offer is applicable on school shoes, socks, and tights consistent with the GA Lower School uniform guidelines. It’s simple! When you visit Olly and make your purchase, tell the associate the name of your school.

NEW in 2011-12! RECYCLING
We will be offering a new recycling opportunity to support our new Green buildings! Find your electronic items you no longer use (cameras, cell phones, iPods, video cameras, computer, printer cartridges, and others—broken is fine!) and donate them to GA for recycling rather than adding to a waste stream! Look for calls for donations for this exciting new opportunity. Next one will be January 2012. Start the new year right by recycling!
