GA Parents Network (GAPN)

Please mark your calendars and join us for GAPN-hosted events this year highlighting stress management and parent education. We are offering several opportunities for parents to examine stress and the factors that cause it and techniques to work through it. Our goal at GAPN is to identify programs, books and speakers that support the needs and interests of our GA families and faculty. We encourage parents from all divisions to attend.

When our children worry, we as parents worry.  We want to help them navigate the world they live in, but often we don’t understand it ourselves, let alone know how to help.  In this interactive, 2-part workshop, Judy Kaminsky, PREN Certified Parenting Educator and Marriage and Family Therapist, will discuss what causes our children’s anxiety and why.  You will come away with strategies and techniques to help your child manage stress and reduce anxiety.

GAPN is a group of parent volunteers whose purpose is to strengthen the GA community through Parent-to-Parent discussion and education.  GAPN collaborates with the GA Counseling Department, Division Heads and the GA Parents Committee to understand the current “hot topics” and to address them through speakers, discussion and book clubs.

Our dedication to parenting education plays a major role in all of our programming. We are committed to assisting our community with developing skills for one of our most important jobs: meeting the emotional needs of our children.

We offer varied and diverse opportunities for all members of the GA community to develop and enrich skills for effective interaction with our children.  All are welcome and encouraged to participate in all GAPN sponsored events.
