Upper School Dress Code is called "GA GEAR"
Shirts
Collared short or long-sleeved polo or turtlenecks in solid navy, black, gray, red, or white; solid white or blue Oxford cloth.
ALL shirts must be embroidered with the GA logo. ALL shirts worn underneath the GA logo'd shirt or sweatshirt must be from the prescribed color range - solid navy, black, gray, red, or white.
Sweatshirts
GA sweatshirts, with or without hoods, may be worn; they may not be worn inside out.
Sweaters, Fleece Crewneck sweaters or fleece jackets/vests in solid navy, black, gray, red, or white; this apparel must be solid in color and have either no logo or carry the GA logo. GA logo’d shirt must be worn underneath.
Pants and Shorts
Must be in solid khaki, navy, black or gray; no frayed edges. No active wear in lieu of pants.
Skirts and Skorts
Must be GA plaid or solid khaki, navy, black, or gray. Opaque shorts, leggings or tights must be worn underneath skirts. (GA plaid is sold at Rose Uniforms)
Other Outerwear
Windbreakers or any type of coats and hats may not be worn in the building during the school day.
Footwear
There are no restrictions.
GENERAL STATEMENTS
Clothing must fit appropriately: not too baggy, not too tight, not too short.
Denim fabrics or distressed (frayed) styles are not permitted.
Items not described above are excluded.
If unsure whether or not an article of clothing is appropriate, please see your Head Advisor or
House Head for approval before wearing it.
SPECIAL OCCASIONS
Occasional “dress down” days will be scheduled. School teams, performing ensembles, etc., may express their school pride by wearing GA shirts and ties, etc., on selected game days and ensemble attire on performance days. Upon gaining permission from the appropriate division head, athletic teams may wear their uniform jerseys.
ENFORCEMENT
Faculty and administration are responsible for monitoring and enforcing the dress code. The
Dress Code is in force unless otherwise noted.
