Middle School GA Gear

MIDDLE School Dress Code is called "GA GEAR"

Shirts
Collared short or long-sleeved polo or turtlenecks in solid navy, black, gray, red, or white; solid white or blue Oxford cloth.

ALL shirts must be embroidered with the GA logo. ALL shirts worn underneath the GA logo’d shirt or sweatshirt must be from the prescribed color range - solid navy, black, gray, red, or white.

Sweatshirts, Sweaters, Fleece
GA sweatshirts, with or without hoods, and crewneck sweaters or fleece jackets/vests in solid navy or royal blue, black, gray, red, or white; this apparel must be solid in color and have either no logo or carry the GA logo. GA logo’d shirt must be worn underneath.

Pants and Shorts
Pants, any length below the knee, and Bermuda shorts, or Bermuda length shorts, must be in solid khaki, navy, black, gray, or white; no frayed edges.   No active wear in lieu of pants or shorts.
 
Skirts and Skorts
Skirts and skorts must extend to the end of your fingertips when your hands are at your sides and must be GA plaid or solid khaki, navy, black, gray, or white.  No tube style skirts. Opaque shorts, leggings or tights must be worn underneath skirts.

Other Outerwear
Windbreakers or any type of coats and hats may not be worn in the building during the school day.

Footwear
There are no restrictions.


GENERAL STATEMENTS

Clothing must fit appropriately: not too baggy, not too tight, not too short.
 
Denim fabrics or distressed (frayed) styles are not permitted. 
 
Items not described above are excluded.
 
If unsure whether or not an article of clothing is appropriate, please see your Head Advisor for approval before wearing it.

All shirts must be purchased at one of these vendors.  No other embroidery companies are included on the Germantown Academy vendor list at this time.


ENFORCEMENT

Faculty and administration are responsible for monitoring and enforcing the dress code.  The Dress Code is in force unless otherwise noted.

Violation: Advisor Notice


The Dress Code will be reviewed annually.

All shirts must be purchased at one of these vendors. No other embroidery companies are included on the Germantown Academy vendor list at this time. 

The Consignment Shop offers new and gently used GA Gear and other uniform apparel. Parents who donate clothing get credit on their matriculation account when their donation sells.  Check the Parents' Committee web page for dates and details.
