Girls Soccer: Four Players Score in Win Over Lawrenceville

By: Joe Cicchino - Sports Information Assistant

FORT WASHINGTON -- A well-balanced attack led Germantown Academy to a 4-1 win over visiting Lawrenceville on Wednesday. The game was the second in as many days for the Patriots.

"It's always tough to play two days in a row," head coach Christopher Nelson said. "I thought we were a little flat at the start, but we picked it up and were able to string some passes together and find the back of the net."

Junior midfielder Julia Johnson '19 (unassisted) opened up the scoring for the Patriots 16 minutes into the first half. Junior midfielder Allison Clark '19 (unassisted) added a second goal 14 minutes later.

Lawrenceville added a goal of their own with nine minutes left to make the score 2-1 at halftime.

The Patriots would add to their lead in the second half with goals from sophomore midfielder Grace Kaupas '20 (Clark assist) and senior forward Annelise Peterson '18 (unassisted).

"They worked really hard today and I thought they got after it," Nelson said. "I'll take four goals any day."

GA now sits at 9-3-1 on the year (4-2 in Inter-Ac play).
