Crew: GA Shines at Stotesbury Regatta

The Patriots had a fantastic day on the water last weekend at the Stotesbury Cup Regatta. In total, GA brought nine boats to the event joining nearly 1,000 other boats from 195 different high schools. The highlight of the weekend came when GA's Girls' Varsity Double (Alex Takei '13 and Kate Horvat '14) won a silver medal with a time of 5:39.48. They were edged by Ridgewood (5:38.34). Boys' Track & Field: Matt Miller '14 & Sam Ritz '15 win gold at PAISAA Championship

Junior jumper Matt Miller '14 and sophomore Sam Ritz '15 each won a gold medal at the Pennsylvania Independent School Athletic Association (PAISAA) Championship on Wednesday at The Hill School in their respective events. GA finished sixth overall in the team standings. READ MORE.

Girls' Track & Field: Paige Kupsky '16 and Megan McCloskey '14 win titles at PAISAA Championship Meet

The Patriots came home with plenty of hardware at Wednesday's Pennsylvania Independent School Athletic Association (PAISAA) Championship at The Hill School. Overall, the Patriots finished fourth out of 14 teams. Leading the way for GA were junior Megan McCloskey '14 and freshman Paige Kupsky, who each won a gold medal. READ MORE.

Track & Field: Matt Miller '14 soars to gold

Germantown Academy’s Matt Miller '14 cleared 14-0 in pole vault a week and a half ago at the Eighth Annual New Balance Henderson Track and Field Invitational meet at West Chester Henderson and that helped him establish a goal for Wednesday’s PAISAA (Pennsylvania Independent School Athletic Association) state meet at Hill School.
“I came here just hoping to get over 14-0 again,” said Miller.
The GA junior didn’t get quite what he expected. What he did get was a height of 14-4, a gold medal and a meet record. The previous standard was 13-0 set in 2010.

The Patriots edged visiting Shipley, 7-6, in the opening round of the Inter-Ac League Invitational on Monday afternoon at Carey Stadium. GA and Shipley were knotted at 6-6 at the end of regulation forcing overtime where the Patriots came out on top. READ MORE.

On Wednesday night, at a special celebration, GA senior Fran Sweeney '13 was given the Girls’ Inter-Ac League Athletic Directors’ Award, an award which is given by the league in honor of past athletic directors and presented to a senior girl who has been a multi-sport varsity athlete who has exemplified a number of characteristics, including being dedicated to her team and school, while also having sportsmanship and leadership.
