Alumni Spotlight: Laura Karbach ‘09

Laura Karbach ‘09 has continued her winning ways since graduating from Germantown Academy. A junior at Wagner College in Staten Island, NY, Laura is the epitome of a true student-athlete. She is sporting a 3.92 GPA and in her first 5 semesters has recorded three perfect 4.0 semesters!  Laura has been inducted into the Education Honor Society, Psi Chi International Honor Society in Psychology, and Omicron Delta Kappa National Scholarship & Leadership Honor Society. Laura is Wagner's starting goalie for the women’s water polo team this year and was recently named to the USA College Water Polo Coaches Association All-Academic Team, posting the sixth highest GPA of any NCAA Division I water polo player in the nation.  The Patriot-turned-Seahawk was also honored for as the MAAC Conference Defense Player of the Week (Feb. 6). Laura amassed a total of 73 saves over her first seven matches of the season and picked up a personal-best 15 blocks opposite Fresno Pacific (2/5).  With double-figures in saves in five of her seven games, Laura has notched a .549 save percentage over the first two weeks of the season.
