Congratulations to
Tim Leshan '84 who was just appointed by Northeastern University to be the new Vice President for Government Relations. In this role, he will manage the university’s relationships with different levels of government, particularly the U.S. Congress and federal agencies. Tim had been at Brown University where he was Director of Government Relations and Community Affairs.

Jamie Murray '87 and his wife, Emily, welcomed their 2nd daughter, Ellie on January 27, 2010. Big sister Claire, who started Pre-K at GA this fall, is an excellent helper!

Aimee Whitenack Bates '94 came home to Philadelphia to marry Justin Bates on June 19, 2010. Their reception was held at her parents' home in Chestnut Hill, and was attended by numerous G.A. alums, including from left to right Amanda Schmutzler Lichenstein '94, Rob Holmes '92, Denise Holmes '92, Ted Holmes '97, Meghan O'Neill '00, Peter Whitenack '00, Kathy Lawlor Reilly '92, Todd Whitenack '92, Melissa Urdang '94, Buck Holmes '93, and Gaby Lawlor '94. Aimee and Justin live in Pebble Beach, California, where they both teach at the Stevenson School, and where Aimee serves as the Associate Dean of Students.
Kevin McGovern '94 and his wife, Christina, welcomed a son, Aidan Matthew McGovern, on September 16, 2010. He joins big brother, Connor, who is 5 years old.

GA was well represented at the May 15, 2010, wedding of Carolyn Straub '00 to Sean McTernan at St. Clements Church, Philadelphia, and the Independence Seaport Museum. Lauren Mandel '01 graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in May with a Master in Landscape Architecture. In graduate school Lauren contributed to GA's new campus design as a part of her work for Wallace Roberts & Todd, LLC. She also wrote a book on urban rooftop agriculture (pending publication). Lauren now works at the green roof firm Roofscapes, Inc. in Philadelphia, and owns a residential gardening business called GROW.
Congratulations to Fran Crippen '02 who was awarded the 2010 Open Water Swimmer of the year at the United States Aquatic Sports Convention in Dallas, TX in September.
Vince and Kali Alexander Curran '02 welcomed Alexandra Grace Curran on July, 19, 2010.

Rosemary Malfi '03 was married to Lewis Bauer on June 27, 2009 at the Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia. In attendance were GA grads Ida Reese '03, Nolan Reese '00, and Kathryn Lloyd '03. Rosemary now lives in Charlottesville, VA and is pursuing her PhD in Ecology at UVA.

Courtney Williams Stotts '03 and her husband Steve welcomed daughter Laila Amari on August 2, 2010. Congratulations to the extended Williams family, grandparents Connie (GA 4th Grade teacher) and Keith (GA Director of Diversity), Aunt Chierra '11 and Uncle Keith '01.
Jess Chadwin '03 has just been named Head Girls' Lacrosse Coach at Villa Maria Academy. She was an assistant coach at Haverford College and most recently Assistant Athletic Director as well as a physical education teacher at Villa Maria. Congratluations to Jess!

Drew Feith Tye '05 and Reuben Hillel Asia of Tucson, Arizona are delighted to announce their engagement. Both Drew and Reuben graduated cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania. This past year, Drew published her first book "Here And Not Forgotten: Stories Of A Wiser Generation," and is also working for Temple University as an Admissions Counselor. Reuben worked for the United States Navy in Washington, D.C. for two years before returning to Philadelphia where he is currently a first year student at Temple University's Beasley School of Law. They plan to wed in Elkins Park in October 2011.
Julie Wyszomierski '06 reports "I am working at Starcom in NYC. It's an advertising/brand building company. I'm working on their Mars account."
Teresa Crippen '08 earned a silver medal in the 200 Fly at the Pan Pac Championships which is currently being held in Irvine, California. She is the top American Female in this event. This finish and her time of 2:06.93L has earned her the #1 spot on the World Championship team in the 200 FLY. She will compete in the summer of 2011 at the World Championships in China.
