GA at a Glance
Germantown Academy is the oldest continuously run non-sectarian day school in the United States. Founded in 1759, The Public School of Germantown was an all boy school in Germantown, Pa. In 1961, the school moved to a new campus in Fort Washington. With the addition of girls, it was one of the first area schools to become co-educational. The Academy just celebrated its 250th anniversary on December 4, 2009.
