21st Century Learning
Germantown Academy values teachers' creativity and grants them considerable autonomy to deliver the school's curriculum in ways that they find most effective. That said, all GA teachers engage students in their own learning and develop students' curiosity and initiative in developmentally appropriate ways. Pedagogy at GA reflects current best practices of independent school education, particularly National Association of Independent School's (NAIS) principle that schools should educate students for global citizenship by preparing them to be "knowledgeable, compassionate citizens and effective leaders within a rapidly transforming world."
GA provides students with ample opportunities for academic growth, personal exploration, and an appreciation of community. The amazing teachers are engaged with, and invested in, each student, allowing students to acquire a thirst for learning that continues well beyond GA.”
