As a symbolic language, mathematics allows us to know the world through a different lens. It affords us a way to move from the concrete to the abstract. We work to engender an appreciation for the intrinsic beauty of mathematics and to help students understand the place of mathematics in our society.

We want our students to develop problem-solving skills that will have broad applications in their lives. We provide students with many opportunities to communicate effectively in the language of mathematics, both orally and in writing.
